Legal information regarding Buying property in Turkey

Legal and other requirements – We will undertake all of the legal side of the transaction for you, including liaising with the notary, applying for the Tapu (property deeds) and registering the property with the council and tax authorities.. We will also ensure that you are connected to receive and pay for electricity and water, or where you are on a complex ensure that your relationship with the management company is established.  We can also assist you with insuring your property, opening bank accounts and guide you through the process of sending money from your U.K. bank if necessary.

Technical Consultancy – As a qualified structural engineer, I will only recommend to you properties which I know to be of sound construction.  Unlike in the U.K. not only can build quality vary with properties, but Turkey is in an earthquake zone, it is therefore imperitive that you buy a well constructed property built by a professional builder.  I will provide advice on any property which we have for sale, to reassure you as to the stability and quality of its construction.

Property management – We have a range of packages to look after your property whilst you are not living in it, preparing it for yours or your guests arrivals and cleaning after departure.  We can assist with maintaining your property whilst you are living there or when you are away, collecting utility bills for you and arranging payment, keeping mobile phone accounts active and generally overseeing the property in your absence. 

Property rentals – We can assist to find tennants if you wish to let your property by advertising on our website, we can also collet rent for you and ensure that your guests enjoy their holiday in your property.

Assitance in residency permits – Should your love of Turkey extend to you wanting to live here on a permanent or semi-permanent basis, we will be pleased to assist you with arranging residency permits.

Resales – If you want to sell your property, either to realise your investment or to move to a new property we will again be delighted to offer our estate agency services.

Assistance in furnishing – If you know where to go to purchase what you want in order to furnish your property, the process of making your house a home can be a relatively painless one.  We will be pleased to advise you where to buy what you need, what are good prices to pay and which brands would be suitable or unsuitable with certain goods.

Renovation and Home Improvements – Should you buy an older property in requirement of renovation, or just want general home improvement work carrying out, we have access to a team of professional craftsmen who will be pleased to provide estimates and advice prior to purchase and will assist with carrying out all kinds of modifications, interior and exterior, at any time after your purchase.
