The Ancient Lycian town of Fethiye nestles at the bottom of Mount Mendos, it is the main administration town for this part of the Turquoise Coast. The town, whilst catering for tourists still retains a sense of its old-fashioned ‘working’ history. A good range of restaurants on the harbour front and in the narrow streets of the old town – Paspatür, cater for all tastes and budgets. The main market on Tuesday offers a cacophony of sights, sounds and smells, giving you the opportunity to purchase locally grown fresh fruit, vegetables, cheese and olives, whether you re on holiday or doing the weekly shop – your local ‘supermarket’ has never looked so good. |
